I supply this meditation for those who have died, particularly for those souls who need it most. It is impressed by the faith traditions talked about in my recent article, “Death and Dying: November is the Month of Remembrance.”
Stretch your body in all the ways that feel good to you, then discover a comfortable place that supports relaxed awareness. Shut your eyes and feel your breath. Permit your breath to softly broaden as you change into aware of moving your consciousness toward your middle, no matter which means for you. Become aware of the surfaces supporting you. Soften your belly, your jaw, your throat. Take as much time as you should quiet your mind and change into centered.
See your beloved in your mind’s eye. (If you’re doing this for somebody who’s actively dying, you can do it of their presence.) Belief the image that involves you. Visualize within this image, a Divine spark. Think about the Light of this essence, expanding in all directions to envelope the entire person. Think about a Light-filled Angel standing proper next to him (her.) See the Angel’s love pouring over your cherished one. Ask the Angel to carry this soul to the very best realms of Light. See this Angel gently carry your beloved with loving arms. Invoke with all your heart the loving presence of the Divine Beloved. (Use no matter image you and your beloved might have shared.) Visualize the Angel lifting your beloved to merge with the Divine Beloved. Ask for this Light to bless this soul and cleanse it of any illusions or negativity that may be weighing down upon it. Want your beloved nicely upon the journey. See all three photos merge and dissolve into Pure Light. Dedicate your follow on behalf of your beloved and for all souls in need and for your own healing. Discover a strategy to transition gently to your next activity.
